Blogs do not work really well with Adsense. Even the big bloggers are finding that they are better off using banner ads on a cost per impression basis to monetize the huge traffic their blogs get.
The problem with blogs and Adsense is the responsiveness of audience to the ads. People visit blogs to read about something — they are not on the lookout for ways to spend money.
More so with your blog which is too new and has no content. You have to think from a user’s perspective — why will they go to your blog and read your stuff (and click on your ads). You must have SOMETHING that is of value to them whether you provide information, write something witty, give good analysis, shows cool stuff, etc. Without anything — with no content and no traffic — you can’t expect to earn much from Adsense
Consider this: A travel website that provides information on travel to Spain will attract visitors looking for ways to arrange their travel and spend money on their vacation to Spain. Your site provides the info, but the ads will provide hotels, travel agencies, tourist destinations, car rentals — ads that are likely to get the attention of the users of your site. This is a site that will most likely do well with Adsense. However, if you are a gaming website where the main purpose of the user is to play games on your site, then Adsense will not perform as well.
To improve the performance of Adsense on your site, Google Adsense Help has good tips on where to put the ads on a blog (their blog heat map). Their tips are as follows:
1. Blend the ads on your blog
2. Experiment with multiple ad formats and locations
3. Offer readers more options with search and referrals
4. Improve site targeting
One other tip — choose a blog topic that attracts people looking for ways to spend money (example is a blog that reviews various cameras and photographic equipment); or blogs that attract audiences that advertisers find very desirable such as high income people or tech savvy folks.
You can actually make a good amount of money with adsense. Adsense does not allow users to give how much they make publicly but I have been successful with Internet marketing and using adsense. If you are new at it you can really take a look at some of the successful programs out there that help people like you. There are two marketing programs I have used (No monthly fee) to help me get started in the internet money making business. Look at my source for a blog on one of them to get you started.
